(a) Consider the transistor in the circuit below. Assume the transistor has a current gain β = 100.
i. Find the emitter, collector, and base currents and voltages. State any assumptions you make and write down the transistor equations you use.
ii. Is the transistor in active mode or saturation mode? Justify your answer.
(b) The op-amp in the following circuit outputs a current I = 5mA. The transistor has β = 100. Calculate the value of the resistor R. Assume an ideal op-amp.
Consider the circuit below. Assume the operational amplifier is ideal.
(b) Find the expressions for the gain G at high frequency, and for the 3dB frequency, ω0.
(c) Find the values of the components such that the circuit has a high frequency input impedance of 1kΩ, a high frequency gain of 40dB and a 3dB frequency of 1kHz.
(d) What function does this circuit perform? Suggest what component should be added to the circuit in order to produce a band pass filter. Where should this component be placed? Calculate the value of this component assuming that the band pass filter has a lower 3dB frequency of 1kHz and high 3dB frequency of 100kHz.
(a) Write down the function Y described by the truth table below as a sum of products. Simplify this expression using a Karnaugh map, and sketch the circuit needed to implement this function.
